What's more, you can stay debt-free as we'll pay your tuition fees and pay you a salary while you train, together with offering successful candidates an ongoing career to become a sea faring Officer.

A Cadetship with Carnival UK offers you the chance to study for a recognised HND or Foundation Degree qualification, enjoy an adventurous lifestyle, unrivalled travel opportunities and get paid for it!  Upon qualifying, successful Engineer, Deck or Electro-Technical Cadets will also gain a professional industry qualification known as a Certificate of Competency as an Officer of the Watch (EOOW/OOW) in addition to the academic qualification.

There are three Cadetship programmes available to you: Deck, Engineering or Electro-Technical. Each of these Cadetships take three years to complete (full details of our programmes are covered on our Working Onboard/Studying sections). We also run a one year Graduate scheme for Engineers for which you will have already gained experience through an apprenticeship, a degree or a HND in a Mechanical field. 

We also offer a route purely for Cadets studying at the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) based in Cork for Deck and Engineers studying either a Batchelor of Science in Nautical Science or a Batchelor of Engineering in Marine & Plant Engineering.

Whichever route you choose, our programmes offer a combination of academic study at a range of shore-based nautical colleges and practical work experience onboard our luxury cruise ships.
