Here you can find information about the different cadetship programmes available from Carnival UK, the minimum entry requirements, the qualifications you'll receive, and detailed course descriptions.

Essentially, there are four core training programmes on offer:

  • Deck (Navigation) Officer Cadetships
  • Engineering Officer Cadetships
  • Electro-Technical Officer Cadetships/Trainees
  • Graduate/Apprentice Programme (Engineering)
All cadetship programmes (with the exception of the graduate/trainee routes) last for three years and comprise periods of theoretical study at a shore-based nautical college with periods of practical work experience onboard one of our cruise ships.

Upon qualification, successful Engineer/Deck officer cadets will gain a Certificate of Competency as Officer of the Watch (EOOW/OOW), as well as either a Foundation Degree (FD) or a Higher National Diploma (HND) depending on the training route followed.
